Profile: Noriko Murakami
As a mental health counselor, I hold the following qualifications:
TRT Psychotherapist / ThetaHealing Practitioner & Basic Instructor / Raindrop Technique Therapist
Background
Born in Osaka in 1975, I pursued studies in Tasmania, Australia, after high school. My journey included language school, enrolling as a senior in a local girls' high school, and graduating from a vocational training college. I then worked in Brisbane, accumulating about seven years of experience in Australia.
Upon returning to Japan, I engaged in international-related work across Nagano, Gunma, Tokyo, and Osaka. After venturing into entrepreneurship, I found my calling supporting international students at a Japanese language school in Osaka.
Path to Becoming a Counselor
Throughout my life—be it during childhood, overseas experiences, professional endeavors, or personal moments—I've always been attuned to my mind and body. All these experiences and skills converged when supporting international students at the Japanese language school. I realized that everything I'd done wasn't in vain; it led to this fulfilling role. Regardless of nationality or background, everyone seeks to cherish their mind and body.
Listening to the diverse concerns of multinational students, I witnessed firsthand how sharing their thoughts lightened their hearts. Their expressions of relief, such as "I'm glad I could talk" or "I didn't know who to turn to, but I'm grateful for this space," deeply resonated with me. I felt immense gratitude for their trust in sharing their stories.
As I continued my studies in psychology, these experiences solidified my decision to pursue a career as a counselor. I approach each session with the intent to contribute positively to others, maintaining this mindset and attitude in all my counseling endeavors.
