One Step at a Time, Into My Third Year
Today, June 1st, marks the second anniversary of the opening of the Sumiyoshi Room.
I am filled with gratitude for the senior counselors and colleagues at Kuretake Counseling who have continued to support me so warmly, as well as for all the wonderful people I have had the privilege of meeting along the way.
Looking back, I feel that many of the things I hoped for two years ago are gradually becoming a reality.
Creating a safe and welcoming space for those seeking emotional support, supporting international residents and multicultural couples, and building meaningful connections within the local community—none of these happened overnight. Yet, by moving forward one step at a time and trusting myself along the way, I have been fortunate to see these hopes slowly take shape.
This spring, I was also able to open the second floor of the Sumiyoshi Room, creating an even more comfortable and private space where people can relax and talk at their own pace.
When I think about it, I have been blessed with many experiences and connections that I could never have imagined two years ago. Each step may seem small on its own, but I feel that continuing to trust myself and keep moving forward has gradually led me to where I am today.
As I begin my third year, I hope to continue at my own pace, cherishing each person and each connection that comes my way.
Wherever you may be today, I hope you are taking good care of yourself and finding moments of peace and happiness along the way.
