What is the kindest thing I can do for myself today?

February is here. In Japan, today is Setsubun, and around the world, it’s also the time for Lunar New Year celebrations.
How are you spending this special time? 😊

While I took a break from posting, I went through a series of events that truly demanded all of my physical and emotional energy. At some point, I found myself feeling a bit overwhelmed.

During that time, I had the chance to talk to a friend, who simply listened with warmth and kindness. Their words encouraged me, helped me see things in a new light, and gently allowed me to let go of some of the heaviness I had been carrying. It reminded me of something really precious—people have a way of lifting each other up. Love, kindness, and connection can be such a gentle, healing force. I felt deeply grateful and touched.

One thing that stayed with me from that conversation was a simple question:
"What is the kindest thing I can do for myself today?"

When I heard those words, it was like I suddenly remembered myself again. And as I sat with that thought, little by little, my emotions started to rise to the surface.

Since then, I’ve been asking myself that question at some point during the day. Sometimes, the answer is letting myself rest early, taking a long bath by candlelight, or choosing to step away from my computer for the day. Even small things like these are beautiful acts of self-care.

It’s such a simple question, but it holds a quiet kind of magic—helping me pause, reconnect with myself, and find a little softness in the day.

So, what’s the kindest thing you can do for yourself today?
